Coutdown: Day 7

This time next week I will be in Jamaica with 14 other people passionate about loving on others with a God size kind of love.

Right now life is busy and hectic....
....I don't want to lose sight of whats to come..
....hence a daily countdown.

For the next 7 days I want to include..
1. Thought
2. Verse
3. Prayer

Thought:
I am grateful for this chance to go to Jamaica.
My desire was birthed out of my passion for Haiti.
I welcome the opportunity to explore a new island and the needs.  I don't want to catch myself comparing the needs of those in Jamaica as more or less then the needs of those I met in Haiti.

I want to be fully in when in Jamaica.  I want to be aware of the needs and what that means for while I am their and in the future.

Your prayers are welcome for the above.

Verse:
While in Jamaica may we identify and strive for this as a team...May all we do be a reflection of the Lord

Colossians 3:17
"And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father."

Prayer:
Dear Lord during this time when we are away from what's familiar I pray that you grant us the time that we need to spend with You.  May our focus of all we do be to reflect you Lord. Give us just a few minutes of quiet time each day to meditate upon Your word so that our relationship with You continually grows and you remain the driving force and focus while we are here. Even if that time must be in transition just give us time to reflect on you and your faithfulness.  May we be in tune with the Holy Spirit as we need to be prepared for what can come our way. Lord, your love is better then life. May we never forget that.
Amen

We all have needs...

It's funny the things we take for grant-it. Simple things really.  Things we don't always think of as neccesities but are always accessible to us...
Below is a list of things I am looking to take to Jamaica with me for the people of Jamaica and the children's home.
These items will be given to people in fishing villiages, people who live in a "dump community" and the people of Robins Nest Children's Home.

Any thing that you have access to or around the house or would willing to purchase and donate would be fantastic.

Let me know and I will arrange a pick up with you.

Be blessed!
