365 days ago we all quickly learned about the poorest country in the western hemisphere.
If you had never heard of Haiti before, it was impossible not to know about it now.
35 seconds of terror...
222,000 people died...
2 million left homeless...
Haiti quickly captivated the hearts of everyone around the world.
And today...
Today,I don't forget...
Not one day goes by that I do not think about Haiti and the beautiful people that call it home.
We can talk about the aid over the past year, or the lack of aid...
But that is just unnecessary in times like these
No matter where you stand on that issue the fact is Haiti is desperate for restoration.
We see it in the millions still living in tent cities...
In the the nearly impossible task of finding free clean drinking water...
We see that play out in massive cholera outbreaks...
And recent riots inspired from the elections...
They just want to have a voice
They want to be heard...
Not just hear the words “hope for Haiti” thrown around because they sound good together...
But to really truly feel there is HOPE...
Because a lot of times it doesn't feel like there is...
I've seen dreams and aspirations in some of the people I have met in Haiti over the past few years.
I've met people who are truly hopeful
May the daunting feeling of hopelessness not quiet their hope...
May their hope be contagious.
Here we are 365 days later...
May we never cease to be inspired to...
bringing awareness to the things that matter
Here's to bringing awareness to Haiti's need for sustainability
Here's to bring HOPE.
Thank you Haiti...
for inspiring me 2.5 years ago...
for changing my life forever...
